Of the handful of EPs I’ve heard over the past couple days this has to be my favorite (sorry, Girls). The collection is only four tracks, but they all bring something unique to the table…
Interesting anecdote… I listened to Ume Blossoms last night right after getting out of work.
It’s a long, mostly instrumental track that follows a sort of bell curve where it builds to a climax and then unwinds, then does a complete u-turn… not unlike “Love Like a Sunset” from Phoenix last year. It felt like the absolute perfect song for my mood at the time, for the atmosphere of driving home in the dark. It was a seriously incredible first listen.
