I suppose there’s not a whole lot to say about Playcount that can’t be deduced from a trip to the front page. We’re a music Tumblr that focuses on independent, alternative, folk, and electronic acts.
Some other things you might want to know about us:
- We’re ardent supporters of the album, but enjoy a good mixtape.
- We sometimes wonder if we listen to a track, and it doesn’t Scrobble, did we ever listen to the track at all?
- We try to report on important music news at least a day before it becomes yesterday’s news. We mostly fail at that.
- We think Annie Clark has quite a captivating face.
- We will never—never—forgive Apple for shutting down LaLa.
- We are not ashamed to say we read Pitchfork, however we don’t hang on their every word and think Gold Soundz probably wasn’t the best song of the 90s. We do think they got it right in 2008 with Fleet Foxes but that Dear Science was def. better than sixth.
- We prefer Pitchfork Reviews Reviews, and hope his hiatus is brief. We wish the author luck with his screenplay.
- We think Tumblr has to to be the most enjoyable blog platform. No contest.
